Change the Face of Depression: A Fresh Look at Our Website

Updated: Apr 13

If you visit the Change the Face of Depression website, you might notice some changes. You’re not imagining it! We’ve been doing a little construction behind the scenes.

Not the loud, dusty kind with hard hats and caution tape — but the thoughtful kind. The kind where you step back, look at something you care deeply about, and ask:

How can we make this better for the people who need it most?

At the end of the day, that’s what Change the Face of Depression is all about. It’s not about perfection, aesthetics, or algorithms. It’s about people. People searching for resources. People looking for support. People who might be awake at 2 a.m., wondering if anyone else in the world understands what they’re feeling.

Why We’re Updating the Website

Over time, CTFOD has grown into something much bigger than a single page or idea. It’s now a place where people can:

  • Explore thousands of mental health resources.

  • Read real survivor stories.

  • Learn about community events like Love YOURSELFie.

  • Listen to the Take Off the Mask podcast.

  • Find tools, guides, and conversations around depression, grief, trauma, and healing.

As this community grows, the website needs to grow with it. We want it to be:

  • Easier to navigate.

  • Easier to find resources.

  • Easier to explore stories.

  • Easier to feel supported.

When someone arrives here, they shouldn’t have to dig through pages to find what they need. Support should feel simple, welcoming, and human.

“Trying to Love OURSELFie”

One of the themes we talk about often in the CTFOD community is self-compassion. We encourage people to look at themselves with kindness, patience, and understanding. As we update the website, we’re trying to do the same thing with our work. We’re “trying to Love OURSELFie.”

Not in a perfect way. Not in a polished way. But in a way that keeps improving so the experience is better for the people who visit.

We Would Love Your Feedback

This community has always been built together. So we’d love for you to take a look around and tell us what you think.

Ask yourself:

  • Is it easy to navigate?

  • Were you able to find resources quickly?

  • What parts stood out to you?

  • What would make the experience better?

Your feedback helps us shape the future of CTFOD.

The Goal Has Always Been Simple

We want to create a place where someone who feels alone can land and immediately know: “Okay… I’m not the only one.”

Struggling with depression, grief, trauma, or mental health challenges does not mean someone is broken. It means they are human. And every human deserves support, compassion, and connection.

Thank you for being part of this community. Thank you for helping us grow. And thank you for helping us continue to change the face of depression.

A Community of Support

Creating a supportive community is at the heart of what we do. We believe that sharing experiences can foster healing. When we come together, we create a space where everyone can feel seen and heard.

Sharing Stories

Stories are powerful. They connect us and remind us that we are not alone. If you have a story to share, we invite you to do so. Your voice matters. It can inspire others who may be struggling.

Resources for Everyone

Whether you’re seeking information for yourself or a loved one, we aim to provide a wealth of resources. From articles to podcasts, we want to ensure you have access to the tools you need.

Join the Conversation

Engagement is key. We encourage you to participate in discussions, whether online or in-person. Your insights can help others feel less isolated. Together, we can create a supportive network that uplifts everyone.
