LCSW in the Hiz-ouse!! Just Kidding I am too nerdy to talk like that.
So Why am I Here?
I am very passionate about Mental Health; in fact, I have made my career about Mental Health. I am an LCSW
which stands for “Let’s Call her Super Woman!”
Pfft, someone is full of themselves (*points to self).
LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means that I have completed a master's level education and the requirements of the state board of mental health to be able to perform mental health therapy services.
Simply put, I am a therapist. While I cannot perform therapeutic services through a
blog ( See the full disclaimer below), I jumped at the chance to write for
Change The Face Of Depression (CTFOD).
This Group of people set out to raise awareness of depression and the
everyday self-care things that you can do to improve your overall mental health.
There are some days that I feel like Super Woman and everything is going my way. Somedays I have to have long conversations with myself to convince myself to get out of bed.
Depression affects people from all walks of life.
Mothers, Fathers, Harvard Grads, Postal Workers, Farmers, Students, Coffee Shop Baristas, …,
and possibly you.
Depression is found on many faces. And faces you may have never thought could
have ever felt depression.
CTFOD is trying to raise awareness of Depression and mental health in my
community and yours. Together we can lift each other up and make this world a brighter place for each other.
*** These articles are NOT a substitution for therapy. If you have any questions or concerns about your emotions, please contact a physician in your community or reach out to a counselor.
