Today is Tuesday....

Today is Tuesday.... I could go on and on about how many things there are to do, how many things I need to catch up on... I could allow myself to get worked up and overwhelmed if I'm not too careful.

The weather outside looks dreary... cloudy.

It's not raining, but the clouds are so thick and heavy you can't see the sunshine.

It's laundry day- Maybe that's the part I want to dislike the most.

It seems like it doesn't matter how often I wash nor how many loads I fold, the laundry never gets caught up.

But amongst all the things that seem to be complaints and all the worries I know I can't control-

I wished for this.

I prayed for those little bodies that need these clean clothes. I begged on my hands and knees for this beautiful mess of people who need me to help take care of them. I worked hard to turn my life around.

it's incredible to realize it. I used to not know where my next meal was going to come from. I lived in my car, bouncing from shelter to shelter so I could bathe.

.....This is how far I've come.

I have a place to call home. I have my own washer and a dryer. I have food and I have a wonderful family.

Every day is not perfect. Nor does everyday have to be-it'll never be as bad as it was. No matter how big or how small the task may feel- sometimes, it's still going to feel overwhelming. And that's ok-

Look at what you've already accomplished. Remind yourself of what you're capable of succeeding through- There's NO going backwards.

Then don't ever allow yourself to forget it.

I love the smell of clean clothes. And if the worst part of my day is getting hugged by warm laundry, we're going to get through this.
